Portraiture, a love story ♡
Born in Lahore, Pakistan and raised in Staten Island, I am an NYC based photographer who has been shooting professionally for 12+ years. I specialize in evocative portraits and am open to traveling with you to tell your story like the bards of past.
Back in my day…there were photographer uncles that shot hours long weddings and teenagers running amuck with film cameras. And the images that came from all that chaos? Awe-inspiring.
I grew up in a family that loved documenting their life—noticing the small moments, capturing the smiles and intensities of their loved ones, gathering in community and ensuring there is an archive of all of life’s happenstances for future generations to witness.
My grandfather was a hobbyist photographer and an intellectual. I was mesmerized by his photos for as long as I can remember. I am exceedingly grateful that I can hold on to memories of him and all those he captured all these years later—piecing together the narrative of our heritage and the generational wealth of kisse kahanian.
At the age of 12 I was entrusted with my first Olympus Point-and-Shoot (Hot Pink to fit my preteen aesthetic) and I haven’t stopped documenting life since.
This is why I love photography—it helps me tell the story of the beauty of the world around us and specifically of all the people we pass by in our everyday life. A portrait shows us not only who we are to the world but also the unique perspective and countless stories we hold within.
With an eye for editorial fashion—classic and modern, I love styling and creatively directing a good concept. And you are the best concept of all!
I want to capture the real you, but being in front of a camera can be tricky! I’ll gently guide you when you need, give space when you’re lost in the moment, and together we’ll document your story as it naturally unfolds—unforgettable and true to you!
We will work together to execute your vision while preserving your sentimental moments, crafting each layer with care so that you are not just left with beautiful pictures, but an experience you will remember for years to come.
